Did you know people are actually afraid of VOTING? (1921 hits)

There are so many issues with getting people to actually vote, that's its scary in and of itself. People are actually afraid of the process. Fear as in not understanding how easy it is, not to mention empowering.

There's nothing like watching the results come in AFTER YOU'VE PARTICIPATED IN THE PROCESS. Unfortunately BLACK RADIO hypes the fear by bringing up old wounds and its count by count reporting of incidents voting days. But the process is very simple as is registering to VOTE.

We need to let people know how easy it is. Let them know the polling place is probably within walking distance from their house. You don't need a bus or caravan or armed guards to exercise your right. The polling places is more than likely staffed with your neighbors who are civic minded. They are usually very friendly.

In most cases you can be in an out. If there is a line, be thankful that your neighbors are civic mindful and appreciate they are exercising their right to vote.

Don't assume everyone else is voting the way you want to. Could be a close race for your candidate without your vote. The presidential race is going to be extremely close even with all the controversy. Plus it comes down to the electoral votes, very much like the fight for delegates.

PLEASE find out if you are still ACTIVE now so when November gets here, you'll be able to exerciser not only your civic duty but your right to participate in this process.

I'm excited because two of my daughters will get to vote for the first time in this presidential election. Together with my parents, we will cast our votes as three (3) generations and with five (5) votes between us. Not counting when I spend the rest of the day getting my aunts to their polling place. That's another (5) votes. If I add up my cousins, their spouses, kids, etc. We're sitting pretty with well over 100 votes in this family - all in Georgia.

That's how empowering it is to PARTICIPATE IN THE PROCESS.

Glad to see you all are voting as a family and getting one another to the polls. Unfortunately, while listening to the radio there was a count of over 7 million that have still not yet registered vote. It's sad that with all that this election rides on that more people have not yet registered. Hopefully, this number will tremendously minimize before November. Every vote is needed.

300,000 of that 7 million are in Georgia. That's down from 600,000 at the start of the election. I was hoping the republicans would fuel a mad rush to register...LOL
